Hey world......... So the exercise regimen which I said I would keep you briefed is going on although no change is visible...... That may be due the fact that I eat more than I burn :-)... Anyway so what else is happening in this crazy world???? Let's see...... Cats won't shut up.... The people who hired me are more than a year ago are yet to give me any work and I'm looking for B-Schools who will let a madcap like me to do an MBA in their campus...... So what has changed since my last post....... Hmm... There has been another Hurricane in USA, There have been many more terrorist attacks all around the world, There has been a very public ugly spat between the captain and the coach in the most high profile ( although definitely not the best!!!!) cricket team in world (TEAM INDIA) which has been brushed under the rug very tactlessly by the board... You ask two people who accuse one another with some very serious allegations to work together, to just kiss and make up...... I'm sorry, that's not the way the world works... This is not some small school team or club team... Both people involved have huge reputations and even bigger egos.... Can these two guys work together..... I think not!!!! Look Ganguly (India's Captian) has not been at his explosive best for a couple of years now and his fitness is abysmal and he has not really lived up to his potential of late. Chappell(Coach) is new to the setup and wants to make a difference and show that he is the real deal... In an effort to do this he has taken some bold steps.... But I don't think any overdose is good for anybody... He is a tough Aussie with some tough ideas for the game in India, but he can't just dump all his ideas on the team in one go and expect them to take it all up and perform greatly... Ganguly's captaincy has taken a beating along with his loss in form... The man has becomes a slightly selfish player at times.... But this is not an accusation on the man who has taken this team to heights it has not seen ever!!! He has won many matches for the team not bothering about his personal records... But that is history...... Today the man seems to play for himself out there, I have no doubt in his talent and ability. But come on you can't play for personal landmarks all the time... Even if you do, after you reach it and decide to play for the team use some common sense...He seems to be a spent force in the game.... Maybe the coach should be given a fair run... We should try his methods... My feeling is that this is Ganguly's last chance... He bought himself a get out of jail free card with the centuary against Zim... If he does not perform in the next series he will be out of the team........ For his sake and for Indian cricket I hope he rediscovers his form because there is no one like him when he is in full flow and he is a better captain for it........ Here is hoping for the best for Indian cricket!!!!!! May they return to the form of 2003-04 and stay there........
(BTW: I am an avid Saurav Ganguly supporter so if my comments tend to give him last chance live with it!!!)
